Best Erectile Dysfunction Treatment for Men with Diabetes

A common problem in men with Type 2 Diabetes is erectile dysfunction.  For many years men with diabetes had to suffer in silence.  This is due to to they had no viable remedy to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse.

Viagra changed that for millions of men with diabetes.  It allowed them to finally regain a healthy sexual life with their partner.  Viagra is only 75% effective.  This is due to Diabetes causes nerve damage and atherosclerosis (hardening of arteries).

What is the Best Erectile Dysfunction Treatment for Men with Diabetes?

Diabetes and Erectile Dysfunction

Type 2 Diabetes can cause several health issues for men that can impact their ability to get an erection.  This includes:

  • heart disease
  • high blood pressure
  • damage to blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
  • nerve damage

These issues can lead to problems for men to achieve or maintaining a hard erection. As a result, men with diabetes were forced to give up having sex.

Diabetes Type 2 can cause blood vessels to become rigid, which is a condition called atherosclerosis.  This condition impedes the efficient flow of blood from the heart to vital organs.

When blood flow is restricted, this can consequently cause erectile dysfunction.  In this case, ED is not a condition in itself, but rather is a symptom of Type 2 Diabetes.

Diabetes Causes Nerve Damage

Diabetes can also cause nerve damage.  This issue can prevent signals from the brain to the central nervous system that sends blood to the penis, in response to sex drive.

Due to rigid blood vessels, the heart must work harder to push blood through the vessels.  This can cause elevated blood pressure.

High blood pressure and diabetes effects a male’s ability to achieve or maintain an erection.  It is common for men with diabetes to have coronary artery disease.  This dilemma can cause men have erectile dysfunction.

Diabetes damages nerves in the body, and the penis is full of nerves that are required to make the penis erect.  Another aspect of ED in men with diabetes is that the nerves that are responsible for causing the penis to become erect become damaged over time.

Eventually they loose the ability to respond to the signals from the brain and central nervous system, thus preventing a diabetic man from achieving an erection.

The Canadian Diabetes Association(CDA) states that nearly 50% of men with diabetes will show symptoms of impotence within 10 years of diagnosis.  The CDA also reported that many men with heart disease discover their ED is not due to their heart condition, but rather Type 2 diabetes.

How to Treat Erectile Dysfunction in Men with Diabetes

There are several treatment options for men with diabetes and erectile dysfunction, including medication and diet for erectile dysfunction.

While most doctors will prescribe medications such as Viagra for diabetes, these prescription medications work, but come with several side effects, such as stomach upset, headaches, body pains and even blurry vision.

This has lead men with erectile dysfunction to seek a natural Viagra alternative that improves their erection without the side effects.  One of the best ways to treat erectile dysfunction in men with diabetes is  vacuum therapy.

What Does an Erectile Dysfunction Pump Do That Viagra Does Not?

In addition to forcing blood into the penis to improve a man’s erections, a penis pump allows men with diabetes to also achieve an erection without the side effects of drugs like Viagra.

An erectile dysfunction pump is recommended by the American Board of Urology as a natural cure for erectile dysfunction in men with Diabetes.

5 Benefits of a Vacuum Therapy Deice

  • Increases Circulatory Health
  • Increases blood flow to the penis
  • No side effects
  • Reduces stress and anxiety, which are psychological factors that cause ED in men
  • Improves a man’s self confidence

PDE5 Inhibitor

While Viagra is classified as a PDE5 Inhibitor and works by decreasing the production of prolactin and improves the utilization of nitric oxide to reverse the symptoms of erectile dysfunction, research shows it is only 75% effective in helping men with ED due to Type 2 Diabetes.

Viagra, which is classified as a PDE5 Inhibitor, works by decreasing the production of prolactin in the blood.  This allows for the improved use of nitric oxide.  Nitric oxide is a key component needed to relax blood vessels, and improve blood flow for men to get a hard and sustained erection.

Viagra comes with some potentially unpleasant and dangerous side effects.

An erectile dysfunction pump on the other hand, has a 90% success rate as compared to a 75% success with Viagra.  An erectile dysfunction pump helps men with Diabetes and erectile dysfunction regain their ability to enjoy sex and have a healthy sex life without the use of .

An vacuum therapy for ED, on the other hand, is at least 80% effective at helping men with Diabetes and erectile dysfunction regain their ability to achieve and maintain an erection.
