Can Prostate Massage Cure Erectile Dysfunction

Prostate massage is generally used as an enlarged prostate treatment to reduce the pain and discomfort of BPH and improve urine flow.  Since one of the benefits of prostate massage is improved blood, prostate massage is also effective for men with erectile dysfunction.

What is Prostate Massage?

Prostate Massage is the process of milking the prostate gland to release prostatic fluid and bacteria as a natural method for treating prostate problems, such as enlarged prostate, prostate infection, and urine flow problems.  External Prostate massage helps improve blood flow to the prostate tissue and washes away bacteria and build up of prostatic fluid that can block prostate gland ducts, which prevents the prostate gland from working properly.

In addition to the medical benefits of prostate massage, milking the prostate can help men with erectile dysfunction, since ED is caused by a lack of blood flow to penis sufficient to achieve or maintain an erection.

How Does Prostate Massage Help Cure Erectile Dysfunction

Before starting any treatment for erectile dysfunction, see your doctor for a physical exam, to determine the cause of your sexual dysfunction.

Over time, the ducts of the prostate gland can become blocked with a build up of prostatic fluid and bacteria, which prevents blood from both nourishing the perineum and flushing out bacteria and fluid from the prostate gland.    One contributor to erectile dysfunction in men is lack of blood flow to this region.  Some men are initially able to achieve an erection, but find that they lose it during sexual intercourse, which can be frustrating to the man or woman.  Whenever a man suffers from any type of erection problem, this can lead to performance anxiety, if he fears he may lose his erection during sexual intercourse, or that the woman will reject him if he is unable to perform.  Performance anxiety regardless of the cause, can lead to erectile dysfunction.

Prostate massage stimulates the perineum, which improves blood flow to penis.  As blood flow to the region improves, the male’s ability to achieve and maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse also improves.

There are two types of prostate massage:

1) internal prostate massage, in which a prostate massager is inserted into the rectum to stimulate the prostate gland

2) external prostate massage, which is used on the outside of the body to perform prostate massage

Both types of prostate massage work well, it really depends on the type of prostate massage that works best for you.

Risks of Prostate Massage

Men with acute prostate infection should not perform prostate massage, due to the risk of releasing toxic bacteria into the body.  Men with prostate cancer should not perform prostate massage, due to the risk of releasing cancerous prostate cells into the body and potentially spreading cancer to other parts of the body.

Vitamin E Benefits for Prostate Health

In a recent medical study on Vitamin E and cancer, which appears in the Oct. 12 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association researchers found a link between high dosage of Vitamin E supplements and a possible increased risk of prostate cancer in men.  The study involved more than 35,000 healthy men aged 50 and older, from the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.  The study focused on Vitamin E supplements of 400 IU or greater, and research subjects who took the Vitamin E supplements for approximately 5 years or longer.  The study found that men who took a Vitamin E tablet of 400 IU or greater on a daily basis for 5 years were 17% more likely to develop prostate cancer than the test subjects who took a placebo, which is a sugar tablet that did not contain any Vitamin E.

The study group was broken down as follows:

200 micrograms of selenium alone daily

400 IU of vitamin E

Daily supplementation with both vitamins

No supplementation (placebo group)

Risks of Taking Vitamins

While there are health benefits if Vitamin E and any other type of vitamins and minerals, there are also risks of vitamins in too high a dosage of vitamins over an extended period of time, usually 5 years or longer.  In addition to Vitamin E, other vitamins that cause potential health risks in high dosage are Vitamin K, Vitamin D, Selenium, Beta Carotene and Vitamin B12.  Consult your doctor before staring any type of vitamin regimen, or high dosage of a vitamin.

Benefits of Vitamin E

There are definite health benefits of including Vitamin in your diet, due to its antioxidant properties.  Health benefits of Vitamin include:

Potent Antioxidant for prostate that protects against free radicals.

Protects against skin disease, including psoriasis, eczema, and acne.

Prevents prostate health issues

Supports circulation

Best Way to Get Vitamin E

The best way to get your RDA of Vitamin E is through a healthy diet containing nuts, such as nuts, green leafy vegetables – particularly cooked spinach, broccoli, flax seed oil, fruits, vegetable oil, fish roe or caviar, cod, tuna and mollusks.

While it is best for men to get your Vitamin E from a prostate healthy diet, an alternative to get your recommended daily allowance of Vitamin E is from a multivitamin rather than a Vitamin E tablet.  Multivitamins or health supplements that contain Vitamin E tend to have a lower IU or international unit of Vitamin E, generally 16IU to 40IU, which is a safer quantity to take on a daily basis and generally prevents the risks of Vitamin E found in larger dosages of 400IU or greater.

How to Get the Proper Dose of Vitamin E

The take away from the Study is not that men or women should avoid Vitamin E supplements, but rather men and women should not take too high a dosage.  The daily dosage of Vitamin E in men that seemed to trigger higher instance of prostate cancer was 400IU per day.  If you need to take a Vitamin E supplement, doctors seem to recommend a mutivitamin or health supplement with Vitamin since they contain a lower dosage, around 16IU to 40IU.

Before taking any health supplement, it is recommended to talk to your doctor to determine the correct RDA of any Vitamin or Health Supplement, based on your age and health.

The best way to get your Daily Recommended Allowance of vitamins and minerals is through a healthy diet, and not over the counter vitamins.  If you need to take a vitamin supplement to increase your daily intake of vitamins, the key is to not take too much!

Vitamin E and Prostate Health

For men who take Vitamin E for prostate health, it is recommended to take a prostate health supplement that contains Vitamin E rather than a Vitamin Supplement by its self, to prevent the risk of developing prostate cancer which is why men take Vitamin E in the first place.  Prostate Health Supplements that contain a safe dosage of Vitamin E (less than 40IU) are Prost-RX, Prosta Response and Prostavar.  My father took Prostavar for several years and said it lowered his PSA levels better than Flomax and Avodart, and since it natural there were no side effects.

Before beginning any regimen of Vitamin E, a supplement containing Vitamin E or a natural prostate supplement see your doctor.  Your doctor can tell you the proper dosage of Vitamin E you should take on daily basis based on your age and any health issues you may have.

Why Doctors May Not Recommend a PSA Test for Men Anymore?

A few years ago doctors in the UK began telling their male patients between the ages of 50 and 75 that they no longer needed to take a yearly PSA or Prostate Specific Antigen test, to check for increases levels of the PSA antigen which could be an indication of the presence of prostate cancer cells.  The American Cancer Association recently began airing messages here in the US that the PSA is an unreliable prostate cancer screening tool for males between the ages of 50 and 65, and doctors should only discuss the PSA or authorize a PSA test if the patient requests it or has a family history of prostate cancer.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force states that the PSA is not a reliable test to check for the presence of prostate cancer in men, and may in fact cause for harm than good.  A high PSA results, usually above 6 or 7 in men age 50 to 65, does not always indicate that the patient has prostate cancer.  Elevated PSA levels may also indicate one of the following male health issues:

Enlarged prostate also known as benign prostate hyperplasia

 Prostatitis or prostate infection

Bladder infection or other problems with the urinary tract

When a PSA test returns a high PSA level, doctors will usually request prostate tissue biopsy, which can be a painful procedure, in which a tool is inserted into the rectum to remove prostate gland tissue samples to be inspected under a microscope to check for the presence of prostate cancer.  The problem with the prostate gland biopsy is it can be painful and the test is unreliable.  Unless a lump on the normally smooth walnut sized prostate gland is felt, similar to a breast cancer or testicular cancer lump, and this specific tissue sample can be removed for further pathology,  the tool will simply take a tissue sample.  This means a doctor can remove non-cancerous tissue leaving cancerous tissue to grow unabated, or the abnormal PSA is due to a benign prostate issue and the patient went through a painful procedure for no reason.

Many men whose prostate cancer was found only because of the PSA test say men over the age of 50 should have their prostate checked and a PSA done yearly or atleast biannually as long as the prostate cancer screenings come back normal.

This debate will rage on here in the US and in Europe until a reliable non-invasive prostate cancer screening test can be developed, with proper age, demographic and other protocols or prostate cancer is eradicated completely.

Prostate Cancer Prevention

Until  a reliable non-invasive prostate cancer screening test is developed, and with the recommendation to not use the PSA test, prevention is the best cure.

Here are the best prostate cancer prevention methods doctors have been recommending to prevent developing prostate cancer.

  • Researchers have found that the prostate gland has the highest concentration of zinc than any other organ in the human body, and biopsies of prostate cancerous tissue found men with prostate cancer are deficient in zinc.  Doctors recommend eating a diet high in zinc, or taking a prostate health supplement that is high in zinc.
  • One potential cause of prostate cancer is the build up of toxic bacteria in the ducts of the prostate gland.  Doctors recommend prostate massage to help relieve he build up of this toxic bacteria that can lead to enlarged prostate, prostate infection and possibly prostate cancer.
  • Get plenty of exercise, get 7-8 hours of sleep a night, reduce stress and anxiety…..and have plenty of sex!

Prostate Cancer Screening Debate In the US and Europe

The debate continues on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean as the frequency of the Prostate Specific Antigen Test or (PSA Test) for men between the ages of 50 and 70, which are years hen are most likely to develop prostate gland problems, ranging benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate) and prostatitis to prostate cancer.

Until recently, the American Cancer Society and the medical community recommended a yearly PSA test for men once they reached the age of 50.  Standard convention now states that men should be screened for prostate cancer every two years, while men who have either a history of cancer or a family history of prostate cancer should be screened more frequently.

Government officials, medical researchers, and patient advocacy groups in Europe are now engaged in the same debate regarding prostate cancer screenings.  The European Association of Urology reiterated that it does not recommend a mass prostate screening policy in Europe for men who are concerned about prostate cancer.  This has been their position for the last several years.  What is concerning here is that this position is being reiterated by a government official and not a medical doctor.  It is no secret that countries with socialized medicine, such as most European countries and even Canada are trying to hold down medical costs by preventing or delaying tests that can detect the presence of cancer in certain groups of people.

The EU based its findings for PSA screening frequency on a study of 162,387 men (age 55-70) from eight European countries.  Amongst its preliminary conclusions were men who had regular PSA tests had a 31% smaller chance of dying of prostate cancer within nine years and that a larger improvement is expected with longer follow-up.  Based on these findings, European government officials recommended that frequent PSA tests for all men between the ages of 50 and 70 was not necessary.  Many US doctors and medical researchers similarly believe that frequent PSA screenings and biopsies do more harm than good.  They believe PSA tests are inconclusive for the presence of cancer, and biopsies are equally a poor prostate cancer screening tool, due to its inaccuracy in selecting proper tissue samples and not providing lower mortality rate for men with prostate cancer.

Some researchers say PSA screening and prostate cancer treatment for men over 70 is unnecessary as most prostate cancers are slow growing, and a man at that age is more likely to die from old age or other health related issues than prostate cancer.  On the other end of the spectrum, beginning testing for men aged 50 or younger, except for men with a history of prostate cancer, would require screenings en masse to find the one male with cancer or pre-cancer out of the thousands of men tested.

This position by the American and European medical communities and their respective government officials has outraged prostate cancer patients and prostate cancer advocacy groups who state people will develop or even die needlessly from prostate cancer, which is one of the most highly curable forms of cancer if caught early enough, in an effort to save money.

Thousands of men with prostate cancer, prostatic cancer survivors and their families state their cancer was only detected due to an elevated PSA score indicating a prostate gland abnormality.  While most men between the ages of 50 and 65 will develop benign prostate problems, such as enlarged prostate or prostate infection, this does not make regular prostate cancer screening less relevant, just as regular breast cancer screenings are recommended for women.

The key here is to be your own advocate.  If your doctor or the insurance company will not authorize a PSA test, continue to press until they say yes, or you can go to your local Savon or CVS Pharmacy as many will perform the simple blood test for less than $50.

How Do Bio-Aligned Prostate Supplements Work?

What are Bio-Aligned prostate supplements, and how do they differ from other natural or herbal prostate supplements?

Common Prostate Problems

The prostate gland is a small walnut sized gland located between the rectum and bladder.  This gland is a vital part of the male reproductive system producing a slightly alkaline fluid that mixes with semen and nourishes sperm as it makes its journey from the male into the female body during sexual intercourse.  The most common prostate problems that men face as they age, include benign prostatic hyperplasia, also known as an enlarged prostate.  Prostatitis is a painful inflammation of the tissue of the prostate gland caused by a backup of toxic bacteria that blocks the ducts of the prostate.  This blockage prevents blood, prostatic fluid and other fluids from naturally cleansing the body of bacteria.  Urine flow problems arise as the enlarged prostate pushes against the urethra, which is the tube that removes urine from the bladder.  The most serious prostate problem is prostate cancer, which requires medical treatment.

How Do  Bio-Aligned Prostate Supplement Treat Prostate Problems?

Unlike other prostate supplements that just target the problems associated with the prostate gland, such as enlarged prostate, prostate infection, and urine flow problems, Bio-Aligned prostate supplements  is a natural prostate  supplement  that is made from herbal or plant-based ingredients that mimic the natural function of the human body.  These prostate supplements supports multiple body systems involved with the health of the prostate.  In addition to the natural herbal ingredients that reduce the swelling and pain associated with prostate problems,  Bio-Aligned Prostate supplements help the prostate function properly with ingredients that supports the critical body systems: immune system, metabolism/hormones and antioxidants that repair damaging free radicals, which damage the body’s organs, tissue and cells.

Immune System

The human immune system is responsible to keep sickness, disease and infection out of the body.  Stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, poor diet and lack of exercise can weaken the immune system and contribute to poor health.  Source Naturals supplements include vital natural ingredients that boost the immune system.

Metabolism and Hormones

Metabolism is the process of breaking down food into energy that the body’s cells, organs and tissue need to function properly, such as proper nutrition, proper weight, good memory, and reduce sluggishness.  Hormones are the messengers that tell the body when to turn certain body functions on and off, such as growth, sexual behavior, proper mood and other vital functions.

Antioxidant Defense

Human cells naturally give and take electrons.  This a normal function.  A body in balance is able produce the electron to replace the electron given up by a cell and maintain proper body function.  The problem arises when a cell has a missing unpaired electron, and must steal an electron from a neighboring cell, called free radicals.  As cells begin stealing electrons from each other and the body is unable to naturally replace the missing electrons, free radicals increase as more cells with a missing unpaired electron occurs and instability results, which can lead to improper function of the organs, sickness and disease.

Including  a diet of antioxidant rich foods, consuming green tea, and taking an antioxidant supplement can helps the body naturally replace the missing electrons in the cells and return the body to optimum health.

How to Stimulate the Prostate Externally?

There are two types of prostate massage that men can do on their prostate gland, internal prostate massage and external prostate massage.

Internal prostate massage, also known as prostate milking, involves inserting a gloved and lubricated finger or prostate massager into the rectum to perform prostate massage to treat prostate problems, such as prostatitis, enlarged prostate, urine flow problems or pain and discomfort related to prostate health issues.  Due to age, health issues, or for personal and religious reasons, internal prostate massage may not be a viable prostate health treatment option.

For this reason a physical therapist in Alaska invented an external prostate massage device for his patients, and also to treat his own prostate problems.

This external prostate massage device from Enviromax, which is made of soft rubber, is called the Prostate Cradle.  Unlike a traditional prostate massager, which must be inserted into the rectum to reach the prostate gland, this unique medical device is designed to stimulate the prostate externally.

How Does the Prostate Cradle Work?

With this external prostate massage device, you simply sit on it for 20 to 30 minutes a day, and the shape of this prostate massager provides a therapeutic massage of the prostate gland and perineum.  With  traditional prostate massage therapy you must be naked since the massager is inserted into the body, but with external prostate massage, you can be fully clothed since the Prostate Cradle is used outside of the body.

Anywhere you can sit you can perform external prostate massage.  This includes your favorite chair while watching tv, while working on the computer, at work or even in the bath tub.

Benefits of External Prostate Massage

  • Convenient way to get a prostate massage
  • Does not use an internal prostate massager
  • No need for messy lubricants
  • Perfect for older men
  • Ideal when health issues prevent using a traditional prostate massager
  • Alternative prostate massage for men who find touching their rectum dirty or taboo
  • Achieve a pleasurable prostate orgasm
  • Improve sex
  • Eliminate painful ejaculation

Risk of Prostate Massage

Before performing prostate massage, see your doctor.  Men with acute prostate infection or prostate cancer should not perform prostate massage without the guidance of trained medical professional.  This is due to the potential risk of releasing toxic bacteria into the body, which can cause a sepsis or releasing prostatic cancer  cells which can spread cancer to other parts of the body.

Five Benefits of External Prostate Massage

There are two types of prostate massage that men can perform, internal or external prostate massage.  Internal prostate massage requires inserting a prostate massager into the rectum to reach the prostate gland.  External prostate massage uses an external massager that a man sits on to treat prostate health problems naturally, such as enlarged prostate or prostate infection.

How Does an External Prostate Massager Work?

An external prostate massage device  is a soft rubbery device that is shaped similar to a bike seat.  A man simply sits on the prostate massager for ten to twenty minutes daily or a few times a week, and due to the shape, it massages the prostate gland.

What Types of Problems Does Prostate Massage Treat?

Prostate massage helps alleviate prostate problems naturally, including:

  • Enlarged Prostate
  • Prostatitis
  • Improves urine flow
  • Reduces frequent late night bathroom trips
  • Pain and discomfort, due to inflamed prostate tissue
  • Painful ejaculation

Five Benefits of External Prostate Massage

Here are the key benefits of External Prostate Massage for men:

1) Some older men or men who are obese may have difficulty inserting a traditional prostate massager into their rectum. When you use an external prostate massage device, this problem is solved since the man simply sits on the massager to receive relief for prostate problems.

2) Due to religious or personal choice, some men find the back side a bit taboo.  This problem is solved since the man simply sits on the external massager to treat prostate problems naturally.

3) Some men do not wish to be naked to use a device to treat prostate problems.  An external prostate massage device can be used fully clothed, so the issue of nudity is a non-issue here.

4) With an internal prostate massager, men must use lubricant both on the prostate massager, and in the rectum.  With external prostate massage there is no need to use lubricants, since the prostate massager is not inserted into the man’s body.

5) While an internal prostate massager must be used in the privacy of a home or doctor’s office, an external prostate massager can be used anywhere a man sits in a chair.  This includes home and work, since the external prostate massager can be wrapped under a towel for discrete use.

Risks of Prostate Massage

Men with acute prostate infection should consult a physician before performing prostate massage, due to the risk of releasing bacteria into the body, which can cause infection or sepsis.

Men with prostate cancer should not perform prostate massage without consulting a doctor or oncologist, due to the risk of releasing prostatic cancer cells that can spread cancer to other parts of the body.
